Spoorthi.....Annual Sports Day.

Here is an attempt to Record what happened on 18th Jan 2006, yes it was Spoorthi... our annual sports event.

We(myself, Ajith & Sathya) did plan well ! Indeed Very Well. We decided to trek the urban jungles of bangalore enroute vidansouda, Cubbon park to our destination YMCA Grounds.

We had a photo session in front of VidhanaSouda. The photo beside is a result above. Then we moved on towards YMCA. It was getting very hot ... i am talking about the Sun !


Then we entered the premises of YMCA .... Sathya was already tired. It was a bright, hot day. We reached a bit late, prelims of most of the events were over and semis were in progress.
Thus we had been relegated to a designation called mute spectators.

Initially we got a bit interested in Womens 200mtrs. Later Eventually we participated in Discuss throw... obviously all three of us were throwing it for the first time in our life.
Then we had an highly productive session, entertainment wise..... We had HIGH JUMP Event.

This event was pure fun... i indeed took part in this.. but couldn't clear prelims.. thats another story.

The Event was full of adrenaline, you could judge it from the above photographs. People were ready to throw themselves to win the medal which was heartening to see.

Eventually our binary banu(Pradeep ... will write about him later) was able to break the shakles of being a glorified loser(often called as runner-up). I have to appreciate this Guy for his athletic ability..... he is real Stud ! I congragulate him for winning this event.

So after high jump event there wasn't much to see or do except for participate in a 1k walkathon which most of the people ran.... absolute cheating !!! We decided to leave venue after heat got the best of us. We had planned to come by walk, but we couldn't resist the call of Shuttle ;-)

we got down at icon and I felt like having a few snaps @ icon. so we had this photo summing up the Picnic cum Sports Day.
